Prior to joining the specials team at Archway Arete I was completing my last year of graduate school. In 2014 my wife (Brianna, 5A lead teacher) and I moved from Moscow, Idaho so I could continue studying trombone performance at Arizona State University. I completed my Masters of Music (MM) in Performance in 2016 and returned to ASU in the fall of 2019 to pursue my Doctorate of Musical Arts (DMA) in Performance. I just completed my doctorate this last spring. I maintain an active private music studio and perform professionally throughout the Phoenix area.

Over the course of the year, our scholars will be learning many new things about music. We will have a song of the month for every month of the school year, we will be preparing music for a fall and spring concert, learning about music theory, developing our ears through sight-singing, and learning about some master musicians. For a specific breakdown of the academic year, please see the pictures below:
2019-2020 Music Curriculum Map, see Grade 3
Outside of teaching, performing, and all things trombone I love spending time with my cats. I have two cats, Cosmo and Gustav. Your scholars will have many stories to share about their (mis)adventures. I also enjoy watching soccer, especially supporting our own local Phoenix Rising FC.
I am looking forward to exploring music with your scholars
this year!
